Exemption of compulsory pilotage North Sea Canal

As from August 1st 2002 a number of changes have become effective concerning the

The changes meant have been taken down in the compulsory pilotage resolution 1995 and in the resolution declaration holders of the navigation act.
Since 1988 compulsory pilotage in the Netherlands has been drawn up (exceptions excluded) for sea-going vessels with a length of 60 metres or more. Since 1995 Masters and navigating officers have more possibilities to become holders of the so-called Pilotage Exemption Certificate.

From August 1st 2002 the competent authority for the North Sea Canal area, the Central Nautical Management North Sea Canal area, has the possibility of granting an exemption of compulsory pilotage for a period of three years for sea-going vessels with a length over all between 75 and 95 metres. This by general Order of Council.
